In 1957 Valid, under the name Thomas de La Rue, opened its doors in Brazil. The first and still reigning provider of specialized security solutions, the Company began its legacy of excellence selling high security paper and printing technologies.
In 1993, after three decades of growth and several acquisitions, the Company expanded exponentially. This South American leader launched new services, products and solutions for the payment card segment, identification systems and security printing in 14 Brazilian states.
Word spread. Credibility grew. And hundreds of major institutions in the financial market, telecommunications and government agencies sought out the Company’s insights and leadership. Thomas de La Rue officially became the benchmark of quality.
When the shareholding structure changed in 2010, the brand evolved into Valid. This new name reflected the Company’s unique value proposition, its history of success and its vision for future prosperity. A young company, Valid had decades of experience in offering unequaled quality, intelligence and efficiency. Whether designing solutions in products and services or in development and delivery, Valid’s track record was second to none.
